Enrolment Night 2019

St. Michael’s N.S. are holding an enrolment night on Tuesday 5th February 2019 at 7.30pm. Parents wishing to enrol their children for September 2019 or 2020 are invited on the night.

Please come along to see our school and some of the exciting changes that are happening in St. Michael’s N.S., including our new fully-equipped Special Education classroom. A short informative talk will be given on the night by our Infants teacher Mrs Campbell. Our principal Ms Whelan will also be available to answer any queries that you may have.

Light refreshments will be served on the night. This is a brilliant opportunity to meet and socialise with other parents in our school. Parents will receive enrolment packs on the night which will include an enrolment form.

We look forward to seeing you on the night!

If you have any questions regarding enrolment for 2019 or 2020, please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 042 9662284.

As the children performed so well, they were rewarded with treats and a movie in the afternoon. This was a very enjoyable experience for both participators and spectators.

Friendship Garden

On Tuesday 4th December 2018, the children from Ms. Atkinson’s room had the opportunity to help plant some lovely fruit trees in our new friendship garden. All children in the school then got to put their name on a tree which they will watch grow as they progress through the school. Our friendship garden was organised by the Parent’s Association and is a very welcome addition to our beautiful school. The children really enjoyed being a part of this very worthwhile event.

We would like to thank our parent’s association for organising our garden, as well as Paul and Russell from Callan’s Garden Centre Donaghmoyne for their help on the day. We can’t wait to enjoy the fruits of our labour!

Halloween 2018

Everyone had fantastic fun this Halloween in St. Michael’s National School. We took part in ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street’, raising some much needed funds for Temple Street hospital. We dressed up and played games to wind down after a busy first term.

We held a fancy dress competition; winners are pictured below.

As part of our Active Schools Campaign, we also decided to hold a Halloween themed active event. This included Halloween orienteering, mandarin and spoon races, pass the pumpkin, score the skeleton, spooky musical statues, a broomstick relay, wrap the mummy and hunt the witch. The children had lots of fun taking part!

Well done to everyone for their participation and to our active leaders who helped make the event a success!
