Happy Mother’s Day to all of our special Mother’s!
We love you all so much!
Congratulations to Eva, Isobel and Grace who took part in the All-Ireland Variety Show in Traboolgan, County Cork on Sunday 24th March 2019. The girls took home numerous trophies and came first place overall as part of the ‘Born to Perform’ stage school.
We are super proud of the three girls!
Ms Atkinson’s class learned all about a group of animals known as invertebrates this March. They then went on a search around the school grounds for these mini-beasts, and used a key to identify what type of invertebrate they had found.
We had a visit today (Tuesday 19th March 2019) to our classroom from two local firemen who work in the fire station in Carrickmacross. They talked to the class about what their job entails. They gave the children lots of advice on how to help prevent fire in their homes. The pupils also learned lots of fire safety tips to remember in the case of an emergency. Everyone in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class found the talk enjoyable and very informative. The children also got the chance to ask some questions in relation to fire safety. A massive thanks to Gavin Duffy and Jim Gartlan for their visit today.
This term we are very lucky to be joined by a Gaelic coach for P.E. The children have been learning the skills necessary to participate in a GAA match.
In addition to our ceolchoirm, Ms Atkinson’s class also held a Tráth na gCeist to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge. Check out the photos below!
Seachtain na Gaeilge is a national festival that celebrates the Irish language and culture. To promote the Irish language in our school, we held a ceolchoirm on Thursday 15th March as a school. Well done to all participants!
World Book Day was a huge success in the Infant room. The air was filled with excitement as the children dressed up, shared their account of their favourite storybook, listened to the story of the Gruffalo and engaged in various activities based on our chosen storybook of the day such as wordsearches, drawing and colouring activities, using playdough to make parts of the characters or scenes from the story and many more.
Beannachtaí na Féile oraibh go léir ó na Naíonáin Shóisearacha agus na Naíonáin Shinsearacha. We hope you all have an amazing St.Patrick’s Day with lots of lucky green wishes that all come true!!
Congratulations to all the Junior and Senior Infants as they proudly present their third certificate for being able to recite all of their nursery rhymes for the last 8 weeks. Well done everyone!!
