Happy Mother’s Day to all our lovely mammies. Enjoy your day on Sunday!
The boys and girls in 1st and 2nd class joined their first Zoom Art Session on Friday 5th March 2021.
They made some 3-D trees using paint and card.
Our infants created boats using recycled materials to test whether they would sink or float.
Well done boys and girls!
We have a tradition here in Donaghmoyne to make pancakes in school together on Pancake Tuesday. Unfortunately we were not in school this year, but that didn’t stop us!
Parents , please check your emails for access to the list of resources and zoom link for this weeks Art class.
We have been busy in our classroom learning about different winter birds. We looked at bird names, the life-cycle of a bird, the parts of a bird and their functions. We also watched a nature show, learning about the habits of birds. The pupils were also given a practical task to design and make their own bird feeders, using recyclable materials. We created some lovely winter pictures, using printing with paint.
Have a peek below at some of the bird feeders we made!

The lead into Christmas this year was a busy one and thankfully we started early! Here are a few snippets of what I can only describe as a breathtaking show. I was so proud of all my budding actors and actresses so well done everyone and I hope you all enjoy the DVD of ‘Not Such A Silent Night’ among family and friends over the Christmas holiday period. Our Christmas candle jars also provided a wonderful backdrop to our show.
Last but by no means least were the Christmas Shape Poems that the pupils designed, masterpieces in their own right! Well done to the boys and girls in the senior classes for your attention, diligence and hard-work this term. Now lots of chocolate has been well earned over the Christmas break! Merry Christmas everyone and I look forward to seeing you all safe and well in the new year.
For SPHE we learned a lot about Smoking and Alcohol. We had a poster competition where the challenge was to design a poster and/or box of cigarettes with the sole purpose of deterring others from Smoking. The results were simply wonderful and there is no doubt that everyone was a winner with this one!
