Junior and Senior infants designed their own Easter Eggs using a combination of printing with pom-poms, and using a variety of brush strokes with their paint brushes. They also made beautiful Easter cards. However, the highlight of our Easter crafts was making our Krispie bun nests with mini eggs..Yum Yum!!
We had an Easter colouring competition and congratulations to our two winners as they proudly present their prize. Well done to all the children who took part as the standard was amazing!
Happy Easter from all the children in Junior and Senior Infants!!
As part of our SESE programme, the infants learned about Living Things and Non-Living Things. They learned to identify the parts of a plant together with the functions of each and the essential elements plants require for growth. To consolidate this learning the children planted their own seeds which they will nurture in the coming weeks and watch them grow…how exciting!!
Congratulations to Eva, Isobel and Grace who took part in the All-Ireland Variety Show in Traboolgan, County Cork on Sunday 24th March 2019. The girls took home numerous trophies and came first place overall as part of the ‘Born to Perform’ stage school.
World Book Day was a huge success in the Infant room. The air was filled with excitement as the children dressed up, shared their account of their favourite storybook, listened to the story of the Gruffalo and engaged in various activities based on our chosen storybook of the day such as wordsearches, drawing and colouring activities, using playdough to make parts of the characters or scenes from the story and many more.
Junior and Senior Infants were working very diligently over the last few weeks learning all that they could about 2D and 3D shapes. They had great fun hunting for the different shapes outside, engaging in a problem solving circuit involving shape in the classroom and they made wonderful shape pictures.
There was huge excitement in the Infant classroom today at the thought of getting pancakes at school. As you can see they went down a treat. Thanks to our parent volunteers who were busy cooking all morning!
Best of luck to students Isobel and Grace who will take part in auditions for Ireland’s Got Talent as part of the dance group Hiphopical this weekend. The show will air on Saturday 23rd of February at 7.30pm on Virgin Media One.
We are all very proud and we can’t wait to see you both perform on tv!
