Halloween 2019

It’s very spooky here in school today!

Check out our fantastic efforts below…

Football Coach in Our School September / October 2019

Our children continue to focus on Health Promotion and continue to practice our Active Flag Initiative as they take part in soccer skills with Euan Treanor during September and October. Have a look at some of their activities below!

Thanks to Euan for visiting our school and sharing his knowledge and expertise with us.

Welcome Back

Welcome back everyone and a special welcome to all our new students. There has been a great buzz this week and it has been wonderful to hear all of the children’s stories from their summer holidays. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

Graduation in Infants

Congratulations to Junior and Senior Infants for graduating from their respective classes. Well done to each and every one of you for your dedication and commitment to your work throughout the year. Good luck to Senior Infants as they move into First Class, we will miss them terribly. Thankfully we get to hold onto the Junior Infants for another year as they move to Senior Infants and we all look forward to getting to know our new pupils at the end of August. School’s out for summer, have a really enjoyable one everyone!

Ice-Cream at School!

Have you ever seen such beaming smiles before? Not unless you got an ice cream at school from the Ice Cream Van! It goes without saying from these little faces that everyone enjoyed their surprise! Thank you to the Parents Association for organising and funding this.

Art Masterpieces in Infants

Here is a small selection of the talented artists in our Infants Class, as they all created masterpieces with Fabric & Fibre… perhaps there are some fashion designers in the making I think?!

In addition, they brought a splash of colour to our classroom with their beautiful sun & rainbow pieces in the final weeks of school.

Nursery Rhyme Challenge

Congratulations once again to Junior and Senior Infants for completing their fourth and final 8 Rhyme Challenge!

Schools in the Past

We would like to extend our thanks to local man Frank Rooney who visited our school on Thursday 20th June 2019. Frank told the children some very interesting stories about life long ago, going into detail about life at school when he attended St. Michael’s National School. The children really enjoyed hearing about how he used to walk to school barefoot in the Summer time, and how girls were not allowed to play football at lunch time.

The art of storytelling is one that is slowly dwindling and we were very lucky that Frank gave up his time to provide this opportunity for the children.

Bike Green – Monaghan Sports Partnership

On Friday 21st June 2019, we were very fortunate to be offered a free taster session from Bike Green by the Monaghan Sports Partnership. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class got to learn many valuable cycling skills, using balance bikes.

A massive thank you to Seán and Francis for coming to visit us today and providing the children with this fantastic opportunity!
