We got a lovely surprise today, Friday 18th June, when an ice cream van arrived to our school!
A huge thank you to our Parent’s Association for funding this very special treat for the boys and girls on such a hot Summer’s Day!

There was a sea of blue in St. Michael’s N.S. on Friday 16th April as we celebrated our first annual Autism Awareness Day on Friday 16th April. The children in each class took part in various lessons throughout the day to raise awareness about autism. They learned what autism is, how to communicate with someone with autism, and how we could make school life easier for someone with autism. We wore blue on the day in support of autism awareness.
We also completed a whole-school collaborative art project which you can view below. The puzzle pattern reflects the complexity of the autism spectrum. It also shows that although we all have different personalities and abilities, we all fit together to create one amazing school community.
The children engaged really well and learned a lot! Well done boys and girls!
Our infants were very busy in the lead up to Easter this year. We learned all about the Easter story in religion and why we celebrate Easter. We learned some Easter vocabulary in Irish and played some Easter games. We also created our own Easter Bunnies and Easter Chicks!
Have a lovely Easter break everyone!
With St. Patrick’s Day looking a little different for everyone this year, we were delighted to be able to celebrate as normal in school. We held a Lá Glás which always adds excitement to this very special day. We also completed a few different art activities.
We made fingerprint Pots of Gold using paint and crepe paper.
We also made these cool Leprechaun masks.
We created these beautiful Spring Wreaths during our art class with Jo on zoom last week. It is so wonderful to see that Spring is finally here!
The 1st of March was a very exciting day as our Infants got to return to school after Christmas. We spent the day chatting and playing with our friends as it has been so long since we were together!
We visited our school friendship garden for a chat and some meditation.
We also made cards for our wonderful Mams and Dads who helped us to complete our home learning over the past seven weeks.
We made beautiful flower bouquets for Mother’s Day with Jo over zoom.
Check out our fabulous creations!
Our infants created boats using recycled materials to test whether they would sink or float.
Well done boys and girls!
We have a tradition here in Donaghmoyne to make pancakes in school together on Pancake Tuesday. Unfortunately we were not in school this year, but that didn’t stop us!
